“Texas Republicans support protecting families, children, schools, workplaces, and communities while reducing taxpayer costs, limiting government expansion, and protecting gun rights by enforcing the federal definition of hemp products as containing no more than 0.4 mg of total THC, including THCA and other isomers, per container; banning intoxicating THC products from non-hemp sources, kratom, psychedelic substances, and other addictive or intoxicating substances beyond already-legal alcohol and tobacco; prohibiting the retail sale, home grows, manufacturing, trafficking, and online sales of these substances; requiring complete toxicology testing in suicides and violent crimes to better assess public safety impacts; funding evidence-based prevention education; and empowering state and local governments to enact stronger protections against outside activists, foreign interests, cartels, and organizations that profit from addiction, mental illness, crime, and homelessness from influencing Texas drug laws or further expanding drug legalization or commercialization efforts in Texas.”
